Punctual
attendance at rehearsals and Masses is vitally important. The choir
cannot
perform well unless choir members are well-rehearsed and present for all events.
Choir
members and families maintain busy schedules and conflicts are inevitable.
However, acceptable reasons for missing a rehearsal or Mass are: illness of a
choir member
(if
you’re sick, please stay
home!), death or grave illness of a close family member, special school functions and family trips (please, not too
many). A calendar is distributed at the start of each year to help with
planning.
If your child will not be attending a rehearsal, please contact the instructor as soon as possible with that information.

Mass attendance is taken and tallied each year. The choristers who attend at least six masses during the year will receive a special prize.
ST. CECILIA & ST. GREGORY CHOIRS (Gr. 5-12)
A
chorister who misses BOTH the rehearsals immediately
prior to the St. Cecilia Choir’s ministry at a Mass are asked NOT to sing at that Mass.
If the
chorister missed only ONE of the two rehearsals before a Mass, the chorister
may sing with the choir at the Mass.
