Such
things include, but are not limited to, wearing choir robes, participating in processionals and
recessionals, reverent bowing or genuflecting before the altar, and
participating in the prayers of the liturgy. Under the approval of our pastor,
the director maintains the sole authority to decide what the choir will and
will not do as an ensemble. During the liturgy, all actions must be completed
in unison.
Choir Duties
The
Schola Choirs lead the music at multiple Masses
during the choir season, including Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday Vigil, and Easter morning. As music
ministers in the liturgy, the choirs represent the universal and unified
Catholic faith. Therefore, it is very important that all choristers participate
in everything the choir does together, as a reflection of our unity in faith.
Barring any physical handicaps, each chorister is required to participate in
every aspect of the ministry.
