Guest Conductor on December 7

We have a visiting musician coming to work with our boy choristers on using their head voices and singing like boy sopranos. His name is Deke Polifka, and he will be here to work with them from 4:00-4:30pm during rehearsal on Friday, December 7. Please make every effort to get your male choristers to this special workshop!

Deke Polifka is Organist and Choirmaster at Grace and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, a position he has held since January of 2007. At Grace, he directs choirs for all ages, serves as principal organist and oversees the long-standing Taylor Memorial Concert Series.  Deke holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in piano performance and chamber music from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he also studied organ with Edward Moore and choral conducting with Leo Nestor. He has earned the Associate (AAGO) certificate of the American Guild of Organists and has been Dean of the Colorado Springs Chapter of that organization. Deke is also an active member in the Association of Anglican Musicians and maintains a private studio of piano/organ students.
